My Dad talked a lot about the war, always guarded not to say too much in front of my younger brother and me. You could see in his eyes, even as a little girl who knew nothing about what he had experienced or for that matter about war, there was pain behind those green eyes. He was a very proud man, proud of his family, his heritage and his country. He served in WWII, in the 82nd Airborne. He was a paratrooper who jumped into combat. They were very brave front line Army soldiers who fought for our country.
